The Lost Get Found- Britt Nicole

Most of the time, I don't see my family as anything ...... unusual. This is just my family. That I love, and cherish. I am so blessed and can't imagine any one of them not being here. I don't really think about us being a larger than average family, or about Vivian's adoption, or special needs. But the truth is, we get attention when we go out. All six go pretty much everywhere with me, and so we get lots of comments. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me if they are all mine, we could pay for several adoptions ;) I'm amazed at the comments people say, which are often, not.very.nice. I try to smile, and answer positively. Still, it wears on you sometimes and I get irritated. I recently heard this song and I love it. Especially these lyrics
Don't let your lights go down
Don't let your fire burn out
'Cause somewhere, somebody needs a reason to believe
Why don't you rise up now?
Don't be afraid to stand out
That's how the lost get found
The lost get found

So when you get the chance
Are you gonna take it?
There's a really big world at your fingertips
And you know you have the chance to change it
There's a girl on the streets, she's cryin'
There's a man whose faith is dyin'
Love is calling you

Chances. We all have chances. To do big things, little things. How often we let them pass us by. It reminds me that there are children that are lost. Orphans. Don't lose that fire that you had when you first found the Lord. When you were willing to do whatever He asked. So often I find that I get distracted by everyday life. Thoughts like, well, I'd like to do that but ...... fill in the blank. Usually it involves something that has to do with my comfort/wants etc.
We can do something. We can change lives. We might have to step out of our comfort zone, but we only get one chance at life, lets not waste it. Use it for God!

Back to standing out. When you really live your life for God, you probably won't blend in so well with the world. We aren't supposed to though! When someone sees something different, they are curious. They ask questions. We get to share why we do what we do. And that's how the lost get found! Michael and I have been able to share with a number of people, who see our family and wonder, why? So while sometimes I get tired of the comments, and stares, I'm grateful for the opportunity to shine His light. Don't be afraid to stand out.
